Evernote Android Update Brings A New Look, Smart Notebook Support

Evernote updated the Android version of its app Monday to version 5, bringing an enhanced look to the app as well as a number of new features including support for Evernote’s Smart Notebook.

One of the most notable updates in Evernote 5 for Android is with the camera. A new multi-shot camera mode within the app allows you to take multiple shots of something and then save all of those shots to a single note. Photos can also be deleted before you save them.

For documents, a new Page Camera function turns your phone’s camera into a scanner of sorts, letting you take a photo of a document than looks like it was scanned rather than photographed. Evernote provides an on-screen rectangle for aligning your document perfectly, and the app removes shadows and improves the contrast in Page Camera shots, so they’re easy to read.
