Try 'Sloppy Typing' on This Reimagined QWERTY Keyboard

With every iteration of each smartphone model comes a slew of new features. Better display! Faster! Thinner! Lighter! But with the notable exception of Swype on smartphones, serious innovation with the QWERTY keyboard has been largely ignored.

Toronto-based company Whirlscape is reimagining the QWERTY keyboard by streamlining the keys into a single line and letting you type without being precise (unlike a typewriter). The "Minuum" keyboard design lets you enjoy "delightfully fast, sloppy typing," said company CEO and lead designer Will Walmsley in the project's Indiegogo campaign video. This "continuum of letters" concept, based on the QWERTY keyboard, is sort of like if T9 texting had a brain, as explained in the video above.
