Amazon Launches Imprint for Literary Fiction

Novels

After launching imprints for lower brow (and frequently, better-selling) genres like fantasy and sci-fi, mysteries and thrillers, and romance, Amazon's Publishing Group is establishing a seventh imprint for literary fiction, called Little A. The publishing group produces and distributes books in both electronic and print formats, the latter through a partnership with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

The first title under the imprint, The Blue Book from UK author A.L. Kennedy, is already on sale. Another, Jake Arnott's The House of Rumor, will be published Tuesday, followed by Jenny Davidson’s The Magic Circle (on sale 3/26), Shawn Vestal's Godforsaken Idaho (4/12), Dan Kennedy's American Spirit (5/28), Allison Lynn's The Exiles and — perhaps the most anticipated — Actors Anonymous from actor James Franco (10/15). Senior Editor Ed Park is overseeing their publication as head of the division, according to PaidContent.
