This Is How an Average Dog Became Internet-Famous

David Fung and Yena Kim are your average New York City couple

They're an artsy pair — he's a graphic artist, she's a women's fashion designer. The couple share their Upper East Side apartment with a three-year-old shiba inu named Bodhi — a Japanese breed packed with energy and, Fung likes to add, "the occasional stubbornness."

The couple chose the name as a reference to Patrick Swayze's character in the early '90s action flick Point Break

In the few years they've had him, Fung said, he's enjoyed the typical "big city" dog life: walks through the park, a constant excitement of seeing new strangers on the street and, naturally, close encounters with squirrels too tame for their own good
