The Republican Party Is Hiring a Chief Technology Officer

Romney-iphone

Are you a Silicon Valley executive or data analyst with a conservative political bent? Then the Republican Party has a job for you: Chief Technology Officer.

The GOP announced Tuesday that it's hiring a CTO who, along with a new Digital Officer, will be responsible for integrating digital, technology and data teams across the Republican Party, training Republicans on digital and technology strategy, building relationships with technology communities across the country and developing new technology to help Republican candidates win in the upcoming midterm elections.

"This is a major change in how party committees operate," Kirsten Kukowski, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, told the New York Times, adding that the ideal candidate could be "an outsider and is maybe able to come in and change the way that we think.”
