Apple Is Working to Make Maps App Better

Applemaps1

As a part of an effort to make its Apple Maps app more reliable, Apple has been quietly rolling out some minor updates, from improved toll road notifications and new satellite imagery to fine-tuning its pronunciation of roads for turn-by-turn navigation.

Apple has been working to improve Maps over the past few months in key regions, with its most recent update in Japan. As of Monday night, there are more views of 3D buildings in the country than before, including the Japan Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower.

Beyond Japan, a number of improvements have been added to cities worldwide, including more 3D buildings and turn-by-turn navigation in Barcelona, Berlin, Rome and throughout China. Apple also recently updated China's road network, re-prioritized locations so the most relevant results pop up first and included a new Chinese character font to make reading on the screen easier.
