By day, Patrick Ashamalla is the Founder and Principal of Washington, D.C.-based digital interactive firm A Brand New Way. Put him inside a SXSW conference keynote, though, and he transforms into an info-artist, someone who can condense one hour of talk into a single page of sketch-filled notes that will blow your mind with their cleverness and info-density.

Ashamalla told me he's been taking notes like this for nearly a decade. "It helps me internalize what's shared and mainly came out of the desire to capture the story in the way that it's presented in the moment," he said in an email.
