Will the HP Slate 7 Run Open WebOS?


For tablets, Hewlett-Packard is officially going Android. The PC manufacturer debuted its first Android tablet at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Slate 7 -- a device with a 7-inch screen that's priced to sell, sell, sell at $169.99 (for 8GB of storage).

The Slate 7 represents both HP's entry into the Android market as well as a final casting off webOS, the operating system it acquired with Palm, then abruptly abandoned mere weeks after the company's original tablet, the HP TouchPad, went on sale.
