Will Barnes & Noble Ditch the Nook?


After disappointing holiday sales, Barnes & Noble is moving away from designing its own e-reader devices and will "focus more on licensing its content to other device makers," according to a report.

That doesn't necessarily mean the end of the Nook, but it appears that B&N has blinked in its arms race with Amazon. They are not completely getting out of the hardware business, but they are going to lean a lot more on the comprehensive digital catalog of content, an unnamed source told The New York Times.
