Adeles Oscar Win Is a Bond Film First


Adele isn't just a shoe-in for the Grammys. The British singer just took home her first Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards on Sunday night for Best Original Song.

Following weeks of social-media buzz that predicted she would come out on top in the category, Adele was awarded the golden statue for her song, "Skyfall," from the James Bond film of the same name. This is the first time a song from a Bond movie has won the coveted award.

"Skyfall" beat out other songs for the win, including "Before My Time" from Chasing Ice, "Pi's Lullaby" from Life Of Pi, "Suddenly" from Les Misrables and "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" from Ted.
