Huawei Unveils Ascend P2, Big Ambitions for the Future

BARCELONA: The lack of really big announcements from the heavy-hitters -- HTC and Samsung -- at the MWC this year opened up space for the slightly less recognizable players to get full media attention for their wares.

Case in point: Huawei, which had a very large room chock-full of journalists in the beautiful setting of Casa Llotja del Mar in Barcelona.

And Huawei, currently the third largest smartphone maker n the world, grabbed the opportunity with both hands. "Today is the day that Huawei grows up," said Amy Lou, global brand director for Huawei device, before making a small speech about determination, perserverance and stopping at nothing to "make impossible possible".
