Neighborhood Watch Moves Online With Social Site Nextdoor


Nextdoor, the social networking site for neighborhoods that launched in 2012, is becoming the digital version of the neighborhood watch.

With Nextdoor, communities can share vital information about crime, lost pets, home repairmen and general neighborhood happenings. However 20% of Nextdoor posts deal with crime and safety. So with the recent $21.6 million in funding, plus the launch of Nextdoor 2.0, the site will focus more on helping neighbors connect when it comes to preventing and reporting local crime.
