Travel Logs Shed Light on Tesla vs. The New York Times


Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has been in full damage-control mode after a scathing review of the company's Model S sedan from none other than The New York Times. Musk has now posted what he says are the vehicle logs from the reporter's test drive, and they don't match up with what the Times reported.

In a blog post, Musk details exactly which facts from the review Tesla is disputing. He says Times reporter John Broder drove at higher speeds than he indicated, repeatedly discontinued charging before storing enough energy to complete legs of his journey -- once against the express advice of Tesla personnel -- and constructed a "no-win scenario" that no vehicle could satisfy.
