Lawmakers Try Again at Creating Entrepreneurs Visa


Lawmakers in Washington are trying for a third time to create new immigration visas for foreign-born entrepreneurs who want to start a business and for highly-trained workers who want to research or work in the United States.

The Startup Act 3.0, introduced Wednesday, would create those new types of visas as well as eliminate per-country caps on employment-based visas.

To qualify for the entrepreneur's visa, foreign-born entrepreneurs would have to start a business that employs at least two full-time employees and invests or raises investments of up to $100,000 in the first year of their time in the United States.
