These Robots Fight When You Move

NEW YORK -- Did you happen to catch the flick Real Steel? It's a bit of hokum, but the giant, motion-controlled robots are beyond cool. Also very much beyond reality. At least I thought so. Now there's a new arena game that lets you control -- in a very limited way -- pint-sized robots in a battle to the death, or at least temporary disability.

Takara Tomy's new BattroBorgs, unveiled at the 2013 Toy Fair, are wireless, remote-control robots that can fight your battles. You place the approximately 4-inch tall robots on a plastic arena, hold the two, tethered remotes -- one in each hand -- and then start fighting. The control is pretty basic.
