Aereo is Expanding to 22 New Cities This Spring

Cord-cutting startup Aereo announced Tuesday that it will be officially expanding into 22 additional cities this spring.

Until now, only New York City residents have had access to Aereo. That will change in a few months, as the company plans expansion to cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Houston and Philadelphia.

If you're unfamiliar with Aereo -- it's a service that lets users watch live TV from a smartphone, set-top box, web browser or tablet. For as little as $8 per month, users have access to live TV and the ability to record programming to two different cloud-based TV tuners.
