7 Kid-Friendly Games for the Holidays

1. Scribblenauts Unlimited

Is your kid a relentless creative, full of wacky ideas and endless drawing potential? If so, Scribblenauts Unlimited is the perfect game for your mini-Monet. With near endless characters and multiple ways to solve levels, your kid will get a kick out of all the possibilities. For those unfamiliar with Scribblenauts, players must solve a series of silly puzzles by materializing people or things into the scenario. The game comes with a robust dictionary that turns most everything you write into a useable object for the game -- something as simple as "banana" or as far-fetched as "Cthulu" generates happy sprites to drop in the world. Gamers dissatisfied with the preset options (or who would prefer a more customized experience) can create their own in the object editor. Pretty much anything is achievable, and the editor also allows users to set how others react to the object and the consequences that follow. The puzzles in question aren't too complex for the average fourth grader and can be solved in a myriad of ways, so it won't be a stumper for kids.
