Yahoo Expands TV Distribution With NBC Sports Deal


Yahoo and NBC have agreed to cross-promote each other's sports content in an effort to boost audiences sizes and coverage breadth across TV and the web.

The partnership will increase NBC's online reach and awareness of Yahoo's sports coverage on TV. Yahoo will also contribute content in areas it covers more thoroughly than NBC, including college and fantasy games, while gaining the ability to feature live sports coverage and TV personalities from NBC.

Unlike the joint venture between NBC and Microsoft, which dissolved this summer, Yahooo and NBC will not be investing in a joint venture, nor will do they plan to merge their websites and newsrooms. In a statement, both companies did say…
