Googles Outgoing Acquisitions Head: An Exclusive Interview


One of the biggest mysteries at Google right now is this: what happened to David Lawee, and where is he going next?

Lawee, until Friday, was the guy you really wanted to meet if you wanted to sell your startup to Google. He's been the head of corporate development since 2007, in charge of presenting potential acquisitions to the management team.

A former entrepreneur himself, Lawee was fascinated by and completely focused on the global startup scene. He coordinated the purchase of some 26 up-and-coming startups in 2011, and 11 (so far) in 2012.
