Fugitive McAfee Says He Forged Location Data in Vice Photo

The John McAfee escape saga just got a little weirder. A photo of the estranged antivirus guru, who is wanted for questioning in Belize, after his neighbor was found dead in a pool of blood on Nov. 10, appeared on the website of Vice magazine. Vice published the picture of McAfee and Editor-in-Chief Rocco Castoro, without stripping the metadata from the file, revealing the picture was taken in Guatemala.

A Twitter user pointed out that the location was easily accessible by taking a look at the metadata of the picture published online, but subsequent reports seem to indicate that that location was forged.
