Rocker Andrew WK Blown Away After State Department Cancels His Trip

American rocker Andrew WK's plans to "promote partying and positive power," as he says, in the Middle East as a cultural ambassador have dissipated after the U.S. State Department rescinded its invitation this week.

Andrew WK, most known for his 2001 song "Party Hard" and TV hosting gig on Cartoon Network's Destroy Build Destroy, had been tapped to speak in Bahrain. Officials, however, concluded "this was not an appropriate use of U.S. government funds," according to State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.

Andrew WK's website issued a statement after the cancellation, while the rocker himself took to Twitter to express his disappointment.…
