Amazon Says Kindle Sales Set a New Record on Cyber Monday

Amazon says it set a one-day record for Kindle sales on Cyber Monday as consumers flocked to a $129 offer on the Kindle Fire.

The company also broke its Black Friday record for Kindle sales and Kindle products occupy the top four spots for overall sales for Amazon. As usual, the company declined to provide exact figures for sales.

In the fourth quarter of 2011, Amazon sold about 6 million Kindles, according an estimate by Stifel Nicolaus analyst Jordan Rohan. Amazon claimed to have sold 1 million Kindle devices per week last December.
