FBI Looking Into HPs Charges Against Autonomy [REPORT]


On Tuesday, we learned that the Securities and Exchange Commission is looking into Hewlett-Packard's claim that accounting irregularities related to Autonomy, the UK software firm it bought in 2011. Now, a report says that the FBI is also probing Autonomy.

The report, in Bloomberg Businessweek, states that the SEC asked the FBI for assistance on the matter. HP, which spent $10.2 billion purchasing Autonomy in 2011, filed a complaint with the SEC that year, according to the report. HP is alleging Autonomy's accounting tricks led to a total of $8.8 billion in losses.
