Earlier this month Amazon quietly kicked off a monthly billing option for its Amazon Prime service, which offers free two-day shipping on purchases, plus access to other Amazon services such as Kindle lending and movie/TV streaming. At the time, the ecommerce giant confirmed monthly billing was just a test -- so it's not too surprising that weeks later this option has now been discontinued.
