Puppets for Public Broadcasting Take Over D.C.


The National Mall in Washington, D.C. has seen its fair share of marches and demonstrations over the years. But marches led by puppets? Now that's a little out of the ordinary.

A protest group called the Million Puppet March walked from Washington's Lincoln Park to the National Mall this weekend to show support for public broadcasting. And while there weren't quite a million puppets, plenty were dressed as Big Bird, Elmo and other recognizable characters.
