Google Election Day Doodle Guides You to Local Polling Places


Utility, not whimsey is at the heart of Google's U.S. Election Day Doodle, which leads readers to local polling places.

The Doodle, which shows the Google name spelled out in paper ballots (odd for a tech company as some have pointed out), click through to a prompt to "enter the address where you're registered to vote." Doing so yields the address of your nearby voting booth. Google's YouTube subsidiary used the same technology in an ad for the Obama campaign on Monday, but that led to some incorrect addresses. A Google rep told Mashable that the glitch has been fixed.
