Hurricane Sandy Turns NY Subways Into Ghost Town [PICS]
Images of a completely empty New York City subway system can usually only be seen in movies, but this time they're for real.
New York City's subways and train stations were closed in preparation for Hurricane Sandy, a category 1 hurricane expected to bring a storm surge to the mid-Atlantic coast on Monday evening and early Tuesday.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has published photos of the mostly empty stations, including iconic locations such as the Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station.
Check out the photos in the gallery above (the entire gallery is available on Flickr), and follow our coverage of Hurricane Sandy here.
