Apple Sells 26.9 Million iPhones in Q4, Beating Wall Street Estimates


Apple sold 26.9 million iPhones in the fourth quarter ending Sept. 30, beatingWall Street estimates of just more than 25 million, the company revealed in earnings report on Thursday.

Analysts expected Apple to sell fewer iPhones than the previous quarter when they sold 26 million, largely due to weaker demand as consumers waited for the iPhone 5 to be released in the final weeks of the quarter. The big question heading into the earnings report was whether Apple was able to produce and sell enough iPhone 5s to make up for that dip in demand, given reports about supply constraints.
