Dale Chihuly at VMFA, and photography and accessibility of art in museums

I visited the new Dale Chihuly exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts today, and a guard told me Chihuly explicitly demands in his contract that photography must be allowed. He also insists on arranging work so that is presented naked, not behind guard rails or velvet ropes or barriers of any kind. That little detail about his desire for accessibility and sharing made me appreciate the show more. Here are some snapshots I took.
