Shopkick Re-Engineers Itself to Close Gap Between Couches and Stores


When Shopkick released its first mobile application, its creators built features based on what they thought users would like, co-founder and CEO Cyriac Roeding recalls. Two years, four million registered users and several major retail partnerships later, Shopkick now has a lot of data about how people use the app -- both in-store and out.

On Tuesday, Shopkick released version 3.0 of its app for iPhone and Android devices, which has been completely reengineered based on user data and focus groups Shopkick conducted over the past half-year.
