Samsung Announces Jelly Bean Update for Galaxy S III


U.S. owners of Samsung's flagship Android smartphone, the Galaxy S III, will receive an update to Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean in the "coming months," the company has announced.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not give an actual date for the update, saying instead exact timing will be announced by each of its carrier partners -- AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.

Galaxy S III owners will be happy to hear that this is more than just an Android upgrade. Samsung will add a number of new features to the device's software, including camera, video and UI enhancements.
