Foxconn Admits to Hiring Underage Interns

China's Foxconn, the company that manufactures electronic components for Apple, HP and others, has admitted to hiring underage interns.

Foxconn performed an internal investigation at its Yantai facility in the Shandong Province, finding that some of the interns there were age 14-16. The legal working age in China is 16.

"This is not only a violation of China's labor law, it is also a violation of Foxconn policy and immediate steps have been taken to return the interns in question to their educational institutions.
