I Am Malala Petition Rallies for School Girl Shot by Taliban


Pakistani blogger, education activist and peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai drew the world's attention last week, when she was shot by Taliban militants on her trip home from school. Now an online petition in her name calling on Pakistan to reform its education policy is gaining traction.

The petition, called "I Am Malala," is led by former British Prime Minister and U.N. Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown. It draws on the language being printed on T-shirts, posters and websites around the world, calling for the rights of all girls to receive an education.
