One of the best parts of Halloween is willingly putting yourself through sheer terror by going through some sort of haunted house or scary hayride.

Why do we subject ourselves to extreme levels of fear? For entertainment, of course. But while thrill-seekers are having fun getting the pants scared off of themselves, they're providing others with an unsuspecting amount of joy.
