Waiting in Line Hurts Your Wallet, But Boosts Your Ego


Whether it's the newest Apple gadget, Wii or simply a Black Friday sale, camping in line for hours to snatch up the latest product is something of a commercialized tradition.

But retail experts have found that the hype around mega-sales or product launches that attract those line-waiters is more of a scam on the wallet and a boost to the ego than any true money-saving venture.

A Wall Street Journal study found that "toys and televisions," which people wait in line for during events like Black Friday, are usually marked down up to 50% lower at other times of the year.
