Unavoidable Bacon Shortage Leads to Twitter Hysteria


This could be the end times for the Internet's ironically favorite breakfast food: bacon.

Due to drought conditions that decimated the corn and soybean crop this year, "a world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable," according to an industry trade group.

The drought produced less feed, which led to herds declining across the European Union at a significant rate, according to the National Pig Association in Britain.

Twitter users reacted to the news in hysterics, calling it an "aporkalypse." Perhaps not using the meat product as currency, websites and forms of medication would be a good place to start the conservation effort.
