Mobile Boarding Passes Appear on Passbook Before iOS 6 Launch

It's only a matter of time before businesses start fully embracing Apple iOS 6's Passbook feature for mobile devices -- which will be able to store anything from boarding passes and tickets to coupons and loyalty cards -- but according to a new report, Virgin Australia airlines is already allowing travelers to check-in to flights and save boarding passes to the platform.

Australian Business Traveler is reporting that a user was able to check in and save a boarding pass for a flight via the Virgin Australia mobile site, which is currently running a preview version of iOS 6. Apple's new mobile operating system is scheduled to roll out this fall.
