Satellite Captures Breathtaking Photo of Hurricane Isaac

This stunning satellite photo from NASA shows what is now Hurricane Isaac as it traveled through the Gulf of Mexico towards the Louisiana coastline as a tropical storm.

The image was produced by the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) day-night band, which is able to snap images in extreme low light situations. In this photo, the clouds of Isaac were lit only by moonlight.
