1 Terabyte of Data Will Be Sent Daily During Conventions


Thanks to all the e-mails, tweets, streaming video and mobile Internet usage at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, both events are estimated to see an astonishing one terabyte (that's 1000 gigabytes) of data sent from each event.

That number comes straight from Cisco, the official networking provider of both conventions.

Other data about convention data? The Republican convention will have 12.5 gigabytes of bandwidth, while the Democratic convention will use 10. And they'll be plenty of IT support on site, too: Cisco will be helping connect thousands of politicians, delegates and reporters during both events.
