iPhone Owners, Be Wary of Fake Text Messages


Apple is telling its customers to be wary of text messages sent via SMS.

The warning comes after a prominent hacker, pod2g, claimed to find a flaw in iOS that lets hackers change what phone number the text appears to be coming from, potentially leading users to trust senders they shouldn't. According to pod2g, the flaw has existed since the beginning of SMS implementation on the iPhone, and is still found in iOS 6, the next generation of Apples iPhone software.
