Tablet Alert: RIM To Release LTE BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM may not be releasing BlackBerry 10 for a while yet, but the company is releasing a new product - sort of.

RIM announced Thursday it would be releasing a new version of the BlackBerry PlayBook, one capable of next-generation super-fast LTE data service, next week.

The tablet will launch with a select number of Canadian carriers on August 9 (Rogers, Telus, and Bell), and will be available only from those carriers for the time being.

The tablet is headed to other markets such as the United State, and Europe in the coming months," says RIM.
