10 Terrific iPad Apps for Toddlers

1. Pat the Bunny

Inspired by the 1940s children's book, this app revamps the interactive reading experience for the next generation. While the iPad can't recreate the textures of sandpaper or faux bunny fur, it does feature 14 totally interactive scenes your child can explore. There's an Easter egg hunt in every scene, and the magical paint mode turns every page into a coloring activity. The original book featured a mirror; the iPad app recreates that element using your device's forward-facing camera. There are three ways to read Pat the Bunny: Watch and listen while the text is read aloud, turn off the narration and read it to your child at your own pace or record your own voice to play on each page. Price: $4.99
