Google Reinventing the Living Room with Fiber TV

In addition to announcing details about its new high-speed Internet network Google Fiber -- which runs 100 times faster than today's average broadband -- Google unveiled Thursday a new initiative for the home: Fiber television.

Touted as a new way to experience TV, the interactive service allows you to watch and record up to 500 hours of television -- and tape up to eight shows at once -- across its new Google Fiber Internet network. Content is also searchable via its DVR and the system connects to services such as Netflix.

The search engine giant is making various packages available for the service. For $120 a month, users will get Fiber TV along with the Gigabit broadband service…
