Nokia Sold 4 Million Lumias in the Last Quarter

Nokia sold 4 million Lumias in its most recent quarter, a pittance compared to the 35.1 million iPhones Apple sold in its last quarter, but an encouraging sign for the growth of Windows Mobile.

The figure, which Nokia reported along with its second-quarter earnings on Thursday, was double the amount the company sold in Q1. The company is also banking on a boost from Windows 8, which will run on Lumia. Microsoft is expected to make the "RTM" (Release to Manufacturing) version of that OS available in the first week of August.
