Yelp Check-ins Coming to iPhone Maps App

iPhone users will soon be able to notify their friends of their whereabouts directly from the Maps application using Yelp's check-in functionality, according to iOS 6 preview materials made available to developers. Apple is expected to replace Google Maps with its own mapping application later this year.

We already knew that Yelp would be integrated into a number of iOS features when iOS 6 was announced: Namely, that users would be able to access Yelp reviews using Apple's voice-command system, Siri.
