Twitter Is Back Up [UPDATE]

Update 5: Twitter appears to finally be back up. Twitter's Communications team sent out this message about the prolongued outage:

Today's outage is due to a cascaded bug in one of our infrastructure components. We'll provide updated information soon.— Twitter Comms (@twittercomms) June 21, 2012

Update 4: We spoke too soon. As soon as our post was updated, Twitter decided to go down again. Will users finally get frustrated enough to actually use Google+?

Update 3: And we appear to be back. With any luck, the Twitter gods will keep the service moving. This appears to be Twitter's most sustained downtime in at least 12 months. We've reached out to Twitter for more details…
