1. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga, formerly known by her legal name Stefani Germanotta, performed this original song at NYU's annual talent show. You can hear the beginnings of Gaga's hit "Poker Face" in this song, however, Germanotta only placed third in the talent show.

Most of us were guilty of singing into our hairbrushes as children, or performing in the driveway for family members -- fortunately, YouTube wasn't around for a lot of those memories. Celebrities on the other hand, are not so lucky.

Though a lot of stars got their start as child actors on shows like Mickey Mouse Club or singing on televised talent shows like Star Search, not every celebrity began his or her career on TV. Some auditioned for small roles or commercials, while others struggled to get comfortable performing in clubs.
