Father Of C And UNIX, Dennis Ritchie, Passes Away At Age 70
Rob Pike, a current Google engineer known for his involvement in the creation of Bell Labs' Plan 9 and Inferno operating systems (as well as the Limbo programming language), shared some sad news today on Google+: After long-suffering from illness, Dennis Ritchie has died today at the age of 70. Ritchie, also known as "dmr", is best know for creating the C programming language as well as being instrumental in the development of UNIX along with Ken Thompson.
