How the US Postal Service sells you to junk mailers
"Leverage life triggers" with the USPS's automated mailing system of the future! Last month, the United States Postal Service required the use of "Intelligent Mail" barcodes to qualify for automation delivery prices. Here's how they pitched the system to mass-mailers: with a bizarre science-fictional representation of the junk mail control center of tomorrow, complete with Minority Report-style user interfaces and huge totemic representations of USPS barcodes on the walls and floors. Sent to BB anonymously, the video is about 3 minutes long. I can't decide which is my favorite part: the scenes where actors stab inaccurately at virtual displays they cannot see; the dehumanized 3D models showing the "address quality" of individual homes in a neighborhood; or the knocked-off luxury sunglasses and handbag worn the by the lady worthy of targeted marketing....
