Haunted Mansion's hitchhiking ghosts replaced by CGI (for now)

There's some sort of major renovation underway at the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World, and while the works are on, the Imagineers have covered up the Hitchhiking Ghosts of the grand finale with screens and projections. It's basically an animated construction hoarding, and thankfully it's temporary, but there are tantalizing hints about what might be coming next. I've also been told, unofficially, that many interactive elements are making their way into the attraction, not only in the queue but potentially in this Hitchhiking Ghost area as well. Additional equipment may allow guests to interact with these ghosts -- or the ghosts may interact with guests! For the moment, this technology is either not fully installed or not functional.
